Even though Jean Ribault and Pedro Menendez de Aviles hated each other, they were alike in many ways. What did they have in common?
Pedro Menedez and Jean Ribault were very much alike, they were both very skilled leaders and had much potential. They also were once in jail. Pedro and Jean each had a large part in the history of Florida. They were both fighting for the land and they were very cruel to each other. They have many more things in common than this, so much they seem like the same person!

One reason Jean Ribault and Pedro Menendez were alike was that at one time they both went to jail. Then they were both released to fight in the same war. They also were wonderful sailors and spent a lot of their time on ships. Lastly they both tried to name the same forts different names.

Jean Ribault and Pedro Menendez where very alike, one reason is they both wanted la Florida. They both hated each other in the same ways but they wanted to rule it differently. Also they both where generals. Pedro Menendez and Jean Ribault were both really good fighters.
I know that even though Jean Ribault and Pedro Menendez de Aviles hated each other, that they were alike in many different ways. The first reason is that they both wanted something: a fort where nobody could find it. They also wanted food, water, shelter, supplies, and more settlers. That’s why when Jean Ribault went to go get more supplies and settlers for Charlesfort, he found the French Huguenots battling against the Spanish Catholics. My second reason is they played a very important part in history. Aviles got credited for being the founder of the oldest settlement of the United States, St. Augustine because this has lasted forever. Then, Ribault renamed the St. Johns River the River of May. Lastly, my other reason is that they both fought for what they wanted or needed and wouldn’t try to give up. They both fought something that they thought was right. Pedro Menendez de Aviles thought it was right to have a leader to conquer Fort Caroline while Jean Ribault thought different. After all, they were both strong leaders with their history never forgoten.

Even though Jean Ribault and Pedro Menendez had a lot of things they didn't agree on, they both were very respected explorers. Both Jean Ribault and Pedro Menendez named famous rivers. They both were arrested and served time in jail. Jean Ribault and Pedro Menendez both liked adventures and they both wanted La Florida. Further, they both were known for being great leaders.

Jean Ribualt and Pedro Menenedez de Aviles hated each other. what they have in common is they both went to jail so we know they did something wrong. Jean Ribualt is a French explorer and Pedro Menenedez de Aviles is a Spanish explorer so they are pretty different. They are alike because they both wanted something, like a Fort. See Aviles wanted to attack the French. Jean Ribualt did not want to be involved in a fight against the Spanish and the French so he fled to England and got arrested there. Aviles wanted to attack Fort Caroline so he set up camp in St.Augustine where he founded it.

One of he reasons that Pedro Menendez and Jean Ribault are alike is because they were once both in jail. Another way they are alike is they are both really skilled leaders. They both fought for land and were very mean to the American Indians. Finally, they both named rivers and cities ( colonies ).

Jean Ribault and Pedro Mendez are the alike because they were both at some point in their lives in trouble with the police. They were both excellent leaders and had an ability to organize and persuade people into helping others. Both of them were travelers and helped many people. They both wanted to help people.

Pedro Menendez and Jean Ribault are alike because they both went to jail. Jean went to jail because he was caught stealing ships to resuply the charles fort. He was kind to the local indians, which other French people didn't like. Jean Ribault and Pedro Menendez are also similar because they both came to America. Jean and Pedro Menendez are different because Pedro Menendez recaptured Fort Caroline and renamed it to san mateo. Jean Ribault built a monument and named it Mayport, but then the spanish renamed to St. Johns river.

Jean Ribault and Pedro Menendez are a lot alike in many different ways because they where both in the fight Spanish .vs. French. So Pedro wanted to take over the Spanish castle so they can have a fort called castillo de San marcos. The reason that Jean whent to Jail because he was looking to steal boat parts and whole boats to sail back to La Florida.Jean wanted to fight back and get his own Castle again and name it caroline again so he could be nice to the Indians because it had been very different for the indians because Pedro took over and did not care about them as much as Jean did.

Jean Ribault and Pedro Menendez de Aviles are alike in many different ways, such as they where both in prison, and they both also named rivers and cites. Last, even though they are bad and went to prison they are great leaders.

Pedro Menendez and Jean Ribault are alike because they have both been in jail. Menendez discovered Ribualt's five ships that blocked the entrance to fort Caroline. Pedro retreated to a protected harbor and set up camp. Ribault sent ships to attack Menendez St. Augustine. A bad storm came so most of the French ships crashed to near Daytona beach. Menendez knew the French were in trouble and sent 500 of his ships to capture Fort Caroline. In 1565, he captured the fort and renamed it San Mateo and renamed river St. Johns.

They are alike becase they've both been in jail and they have both been a leader in an expedition to St. Augustine. They also fought for the same fort [Fort Caroline].They were both alike in many different ways, but still are enemies. That is all I think they have in common.

Those two men were in common because they were both in jail at one point. Also, they both built their own forts. They were different because one man, Jean, traded with the indian tribe and they were nice to him. The other man, Pedro, was mean to the indians.

Pirates in movies are visous, mean and cruel but in real life they are mean but not all time. Pirates are different than in movies because in movies pirates work for themselves and don't trust anybody but in real life thy are nice in someways . Some pirates worked with the United States government. Also when Andrew Jackson fought in the battle of New Orleans he asked a pirate named Lafitte and his crew to help him fight in the battle. Without Lafitte's help Andrew Jackson could have lost the battle.
