Help me plan a springtime garden in the shape of this picture. I would like to separate my garden into three areas and then find the total area. Write a paragraph of 3-5 complete sentences to explain how you would do this. Note: This is not to scale.
First, you have to decompose the irregular shape. AHH! I found the way that I can decompose it. I know that I want rectangles, so I'm going to divide it where the ends (on the left followed by the right) of the 10. Perfect! There's three parts. 12x2=24 + 10x14=140 +12x2=24 all that equals 188. The area of your garden is 188 square units.

I would divide the garden vertically to make three rectangles. Now to find the area for each one. The first rectangle would be 12 x 2 = 24. The middle rectangle would be 10 x 10 = 100. The last rectangle would be 12 x 2= 24. Add all the rectangles to find the total area which equals 148.

The first thing I would do would be to decompose the shape into three parts. the first part would be a rectangle, that is 12x2, which equals 24 square units. The next part would be a square that is 10x10, which equals 100 square units. The final part would be a rectangle, that is 12x2, which equals 24 square units. The total area of the garden would be 148 square units. I would plant 100 square units of sunflowers, 24 square units of lilies, and 24 square units of daisies.

so first you would times 12x12 =24. and then do 14x10=140. so now add 24+140=164. so now thats how you do it.

I would cut the shape into parts. then do 12x12=144 after that you do 10x14=140. after you multiply you add it all together you add 144+140 witch that = 280 square area.

Ah ha i found a way to decompostit the shape you could do 10 subtract it by 12 its 2 2x12=24 10x14=140 12x2=24 add them together it equals 188

To plan your springtime garden, you first decompose. If you decomposed, you would have 12x2=24, and another 12x2=24. So that would leave the 10x14 rectangle. Because 10x14=140, you add all those together to get a sum of 188. That's how you do it.

First you chop up the shape into 3 sections . Then you see if there are any missing numbers on the shape and find the correct numbers. Third you multiply 2 of the numbers at a time . Finally you add up all of your products and you have your final answer.

This is what you should do. You should first decompose the spring garden into three rectangles. Then after that, you should check if there were any missing side calculations. Next, multiply the base and the height of all the rectangles. You should get 12 x 2 =24,12 x 2 = 24,and 10 x 14 = 140. Finally, you should add all the products together. If you do all these steps right, you should get a total of 188.

You can cut it into rectangles or squares, first put the information not shown. Then, put it up anyway you want, if you do the middle square and side rectangles. Then, multiply it the way you did it. For example, (2 x 12) x 2 + (10 x 5) = 96. Lastly put put how much square inches, (more examples, feet, yards, meters, and more.) That's how you CAN do it, but you can do it in a different way.

To divide the garden into 3 areas it will not be even. You will have 2 sides that are 12 x 2 is 24 and repeat on the other dide for a totsl of 48. Then take the bottom10 x 14 which is140.add the 3 together to total 188 and then you have 3 different areas.

If you divide it into 3 parts 2 will be rectangles and 1 will be a square. 2 sides are 12 by 2 and that leads us to 48 so fare then I would take 10 by 14 and that is 140.add 24+48+140 and you get 188.

To divide the garden in 3 sections, you can make 1 big garden for the daises and two smaller gardens for the lilies and sunflowers.
The size of big garden for daises is 10x14=140. The size of first small garden is 2x2=4 for lilies. The second small garden for sunflower is 2x2=4. The total size of the 3 gardens is 148.

So first you would divide into three parts. You would divide whre the 12 by 2 that alone would be 24 square units. Then you divide it two times 14 by 10which is 140 square units. Then the third part is 12 by 2 which is 24 square units. So the whole square is188 square units.
